Highlights: He was named Football Gazette
National Defensive Player of the Week following his 11-tackle
game against then 3rd Pitt State that included a sack, forced
fumble, fumble recovery, interceptions and 3 tackles-for-loss.
He scored 10 of ESU's points in the 13-3 win that came after a
forced turnover. He had a tackle-for-loss in ESU's
first 6 games. He leads the defense that is 13th in
scoring defense and 30th in total defense for the team that is
6-1 and ranked 22nd in AFCA poll.
2002 Key Stats: He
leads Division II in total forced fumbles with 4 and is 3rd in
forced fumbles per game. HE leads the MIAA in forced
fumbles and is 9th in sacks. He has led ESU in tackles
twice from strong safety position.
Career Awards and
Accomplishments: He was named CoSIDA second-team
All-American in 2000 and 2001. He was named first-team
All-Midwest Region in 2000 and 2001 and second-team All-MIAA in
1999. He was named first-team All-MIAA in 2000 and 2001.
He was named 2001-02 ESU Student-Athlete of the Year and ESU
Barbra Becker Award of Excellence winner as an outstanding
undergraduate student-athlete. He was named ESU team MVP
in 2001 and most valuable defensive back in 2000 and freshman
MVP in 1999. He needs 1 interception to tie the ESU career
record with 14. He has 307 career tackles and is 7th at
ESU. He was named MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll,
ESU Athletic Director's Honor Roll, and he currently has a 3.24
GPA.
