Career:
He was runner-up for the 2001 Harlon Hill Trophy and the first
finalist in Harlon Hill history to garner the most first place
votes but not win the award. He was named Associated Press
first-team All-American, Daktronics first-team All-American, Don
Hansen's Football Gazette second-team All-American,
D2football.com honorable mention All-American, Daktronics
first-team All-Northeast Region, Detroit Free Press Michigan's
Best, and GLIAC Player of the Year. He was named National
Football Weekly Gazette Offensive Player of the Week three times
and GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week four times. In his
career, he has completed 658-of-1069 passes for 9,449 yards and
100 touchdowns. He has rushed for 1,243 yards and 16
touchdowns on 326 carries. He holds 32 school and GLIAC
single-game, season and career records. He has thrown just
9 interceptions in his last 751 attempts (28 games). He
set the GLIAC single-season record for touchdown passes (48) and
touchdowns responsible for (53). GVSU is undefeated and
ranked number one in the AFCA coaches poll. The team is making
its second straight Division II playoff appearance.
